How to get the best from your general practice team
Travis Medical Centre is committed to providing quality, patient-centred care. All of our staff are passionate about doing the best they can for the health and well-being of our patients. We collaborate as a team to deliver integrated care.
As with all great relationships, it’s communication that makes the positive difference.
Our appointments are scheduled for 15 minutes per patient; that provides 13 minutes of in-person time and 2 minutes for the doctor to complete their documentation.
Every patient is important to us and we try very hard to manage our appointments so we can keep good time and reduce patient waiting time.
To achieve this and get the best out of your 15 minute consultation, please …
-
Use your consultation to discuss 1 or 2 issues and prioritise these so that you discuss the most important one first. This is important because your health professional wants to ensure they give you sufficient time to fully discuss your issues and this may need more than one appointment to do this.
-
If you have more than two things you wish to talk to the doctor about, please consider a double appointment (which is an additional cost) or make another appointment for another day.
-
This is important because your health professional wants to ensure they give you sufficient time to fully discuss your issues and this may need more than one appointment to do this. Please understand that in order to achieve this your doctor or nurse may suggest that you make another appointment rather than trying to fit too much into one consultation.
